Therapies in Alice Springs, Old Age Home in Alice Springs

Our primary purpose is to raise funds in order to encourage the Uniting Church in Australia, through its network of Patrol Ministers, in their pastoral work with Indigenous communities, secluded properties, mining sites and other remotely located communities. Our Patrol Ministers are continually on the road visiting people on secluded properties, Aboriginal communities, mine sites and secluded communities. Providing counseling, spiritual and pastoral care to the people of secluded Australia. Our Patrol Ministers visit people on isolated properties and in trivial townships, in Aboriginal communities, at mine sites, in national parks, with council road gangs and people who are traveling. I’m inspired by the work of the patrol ministers, and how Frontier Services adds to the social fabric of remote areas. John has considerable experience advising and handling litigation in relation to contested wills and estates. Dianne has maintained a strong urge and advocacy for the work of Frontier Services throughout her tenancy as an interim board member, particularly as this labor relates to providing support and services to indigenous communities throughout secluded Australia. How can your organization promote our work? Join our partner organizations and sponsor the work of Frontier Services serving and building communities across the huge landscape of remote Australia. The ministry began in the township in October 1980 to yield support to those employed in the mining operations, as well as Aboriginal communities in the area. For some people living in the area, there is a sense of loneliness and isolation from community and Government services. Tourism is well established although there are many kilometers in between centers. Visiting of pastoral stations, national parks, road gangs and the number of trivial towns in the area is important. Much of the ministry involves spending time listening to people and offering friendship and urge in both appropriate times and the not so good times. The patrol area includes many small communities and hamlets. The other main industry is tourism in appropriate seasons. Oatlands Uniting Church, formerly Presbyterian, was established around the identical period and has been an active congregation although it is smaller these days. While the formal Frontier Services Patrol began in January 2008, ministry in the region has been established for many years. The Patrol Minister is one of the scanty such left in the region. Accordingly, the Patrol Minister has been seen as an integral segment of the region, as she drives, visits, and offers supportive pastoral liturgical care. The Patrol is based in Tom Price in Western Australia and very remote. In the end two years the patrol ministry has become very active in the mining area. Ministry to the pastoral stations is a significant segment of the patrol. Based in Meekatharra, the patrol provides ministry to the communities, stations, mines and individuals within the patrol area that engages people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and offers pastoral care to the people of the Murchison region.

In the late 19th Century, the Christian churches became increasingly concerned for the welfare of people living in the Outback, and Congregational ministers began traveling out to secluded areas in the 1890s. The young Rev John Flynn the founder of what is today Frontier Services had worked in rural and remote areas of Victoria and was commissioned by the Presbyterian Church to look at the needs of Outback people. His report to the Presbyterian Assembly in 1912 resulted in the establishment of the Australian Inland Mission (AIM), of which he was appointed Superintendent. Flynn had a vision to establish a mantle of safety so people could construct sustainable communities despite the hardships of Outback life. A pressing need was for medical services and Flynn focused on setting up nursing posts and hospitals. The beginning AIM Patrol Padres went out in 1913 by camel and horse from Pine Creek, Oodnadatta, Brooke and Port headland to produce pastoral protection and counseling services to people on isolated properties, mine sites and road gangs. The beginning vehicle was purchased for the Cloncurry Padre in 1915. John Flynn also dreamed of using aircraft to conquer the immense Outback distances. Flynn also saw improved communications as another way to overcome Outback isolation. Flynn's vision for Outback people continues to be implemented today through Frontier Services. It is quiet the welcome visitor, the friend, the counselor and support for the people of secluded Australia.
